Eighteen child club and adolescent group members from nine wards participated in a one-day training on child rights organised by UMN and its local partner in Rukum East. Throughout the day, the training focused on several key topics as they learned about how to run a club and gaining insights into the responsibilities of being a member. They also explored the concepts of groups and networks, what is child rights and analysing child rights violation and actions.
Similarly, a two-day scriptwriting and drama training was organised for 10 children from Ward-10 to create public awareness about the detrimental effects of child marriage and reducing it through engaging dramas. Additionally, the training aimed to equip the children with the necessary skills to effectively portray the harms of child marriage and the negative consequences of harmful social norms.
Child clubs offer new learning opportunities and it helps to foster children’s creativity, skills and teamwork.
