History and Key Successes of the Organisation
A Brief History of the Organisation
Pragatishil Yuwa Samaj (PYS) strives to serve the community of Bajhang by addressing the challenging, neglected issues of mental health and disability rehabilitation.
PYS formed an agriculture group in Rithapata of Jaya Prithivi Municipality. Hospital land was taken on lease and the general members of the organisation are growing vegetables on this land. Seed production and distribution were achieved using their own resources. PYS initiated a micro hydro project in Rithapata with the District Development Committee (DDC). It was also involved in developing community drinking water and a sanitation system in Subeda and Luynta of Jaya Prithivi Municipality. The organisation sought to promote an understanding of health and sanitation and HIV/AIDS, for which they received an appreciation latter from the DHO.
