Okhaldhunga Hospital - Getting There and Back

While the first Okhaldhunga team faced a 6-7 day walk, Jubilee attendees took just two days to get there, by road, on the intrepid Tansen Mission Hospital “buck” (half bus, half truck). The road has been a great blessing to the people of Okhaldhunga, and to the hospital.
It’s not all plain sailing though. A truck broken down in the middle of the road created a 5-hour delay. The Tansen “buck” is right at the top of the hill, in the distance.
Mobile phones (and a torch) provided the light needed for a late-night tyre change.
Vehicles received a liberal coating of Okhaldhunga dust. But participating in this Jubilee event was certainly worth it!
